Concrete Pile Defect Identification: Insights from Cross-Hole Sonic Logging and High Strain Dynamic Pile Test

Abstract This paper aims to identify the types of defects, location size and capacity five concrete piles using a High strain dynamic pile test Cross-hole sonic logging test. In this study, Cross-Hole Sonic Logging method (CSL) is potent quality-control tool that exclusively detects much smaller flaws with high accuracy utilizing velocity first arrival time (FAT) from ultrasonic waves find out integrity drill shaft. From CSL test, bearing needs be calculated manually waterfall diagram soil profile. Moreover, used via resistance analysis down split base shaft when only head measurements are taken then Case Method CAPWAP analysis. Through analysis, can interpreted; Belta (damage factor) applied estimate defect in pile. Based on result CLS for three piles, P01, P04, P10, indicated P01 P04 “Good” 4583kN 6600kN, while P10 showed as “Potential at depth 9.25m 10.25m” 6600kN. Furthermore, two P2E P2P, category “Ok” 9896kN.
